This Valentine's Day was our first Valentine's Day together. How special! Even though I've never really made Valentine's Day a big deal, even when I was with a guy, I was excited about this one because it was my first Valentine's Day with the man I am going to marry. Luke is just so sweet. When I knew him just as my neighbor, I would never have guessed that he could be so romantic.
When I walked down stairs at 6:30 am, like I do every Thursday, I was
suddenly awakened when I saw a beautiful vase of a dozen red roses and
Swiss chocolate and of course... my own pack of Oreos :) Luke knows me
well! Later he also gave me a BEAUTIFUL necklace that I actually seriously think I will wear on my wedding day. Must mean he did well if I want to wear it on my wedding day :)
Every Tuesday and Thursday, Luke has to be up near Salt Lake City all day for his internship, so we didn't get to spend the actual Valentine's Day together, but we had plans for the upcoming Saturday. My brother and I instead got to have lunch together! He leaves in July to serve a mission in Hungary for two years, so I am getting all the Alex time I can before he leaves. We had a great lunch together.
Saturday finally came and Luke and I were off to Salt Lake City. I absolultely love the city (I get it from my mom) and so going to SLC is always a treat. Salt Lake City is especially beautiful because of Temple Square and now the new beautiful City Creek that's just across the street. One of my favorite buildings is the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Luke took me to the top floor for dinner. It was absolutely beautiful. We could see the temple, the city and the whole valley as the sun set behind the mountains. The food not to mention was amazing! Such a great memory together. Luke is so, so busy studying engineering and doing his engineering internship, that a whole evening together is so special. And that's just what it was :)
Looks like fun! I hope we get to see the necklace soon!
